Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is simply a psychological technique designed to help you bring about change in your life at the deepest level. This technique is especially helpful for treating phobias, exploring emotions and changing habitual negative thought patterns.

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness that can be induced by a psychotherapist to access the unconscious mind though intense focused relaxation techniques. While in this deeply relaxed state, a psychotherapist can assist you in addressing specific counseling goals and dealing with your emotions.

Everyone experiences this self-induced state everyday whenever they become lost in thought or daydream and find themselves less aware of their outside environment. While in this state our conscious ‘walls’ lower and our sub-conscious is more open to suggestions.

In hypnotherapy, I help you to enter a deep state of relaxation and heightened suggestion. This type of relaxed state is key to treating phobias, altering self-defeating thought patterns and working through powerful emotions.

While under trance or after our sessions you won’t do anything that goes against your own personal values or beliefs. Generally, most people are aware of their surroundings while in the room as treatment takes place.

After a hypnotherapy session you may feel very relaxed or energized and focused on your goals. Hypnotherapy works to reprogram your beliefs at the deepest levels of your consciousness and works to replace the negative patterns and beliefs which are so ingrained that they have become almost automatic with positive beliefs that will help you to create a healthier lifestyle and to feel better about yourself.

Hypnotherapy is often associated with smoking cessation and weight loss programs, but it has many other uses to support personal change in a therapeutic setting. Hypnotherapy is especially helpful in replacing negative patterns in personal self-talk with positive thoughts and statements designed to improve self-esteem and support feelings of emotional wellness.

Negative thought patterns can be so ingrained that you don't even register the self-defeating messages that you automatically think about yourself. You are only left feeling anxious, depressed, or unexpectedly feeling like you have no energy to make the changes you would like to make to improve your life. A psychotherapist can help you uncover these messages and can use hypnotherapy as a tool to change these inner beliefs while supporting you in dealing with your feelings and creating a healthier lifestyle.
